About Cyberstar Design

Cyberstars real name is Steen Ingemann. He is originally from Denmark, but has lived in Chiang Mai, Thailand for the last several years. He has a background as hardcore programmer and system architect and worked several years as head programmer and chief engineer in a software house that developed and maintained a banking system used by a large group of small banks in his home country. The system were in three parts: a mainframe server (written in cobol), a client running on staff computers in the banks (written in java), and Internet banking (also in java).

Cyberstar made his first website in 1993 using Notepad as his most prominent development tool. Throughout the nineties he made several static, purely html based websites. His personal pet-project in that era was a site titled "Guide to Ultimate Reality" which was some skilled piece of online-teaching, attempting to explain advanced topics like Quantum Physics and General Relativity to the lay person. He's got a dual masters degree in physics and computer science, so it actually was some skilled online-teaching. The site was quite famous in certain circles, but Cyberstar soon got too involved in other projects to keep it alive.

Later on Cyberstar started developing dynamically generated websites. His first attempt was a java based site developed completely from scratch. The site was titled "Vipassana House" and was developed as a jsp/java/mySql site consisting of a discussion forum, a bookshop and some educational sections with the relocated "Guide to Ultimate Reality" as a prominent part. Cyberstars newest pet-project is The Satiariyan Society which is a dynamic php/mySql site, containing yet a forum, a blog, and an e-magazine. The forum and blog were recently published in a fully operational state while the magazine is still under development.
